2. Definitions.-

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,

2(g). "prescribed authority" means any officer of the Commercial Taxes Department, not below the rank of Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, as notified by the Government or authorised by the Commissioner to exercise any of the powers conferred by the Ordinance or by these rules;
