2. Definitions.-

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,

2(a). "Departmental Representative" means an officer not below the rank of Commercial Tax Officer appointed by the Commissioner to receive on behalf of the assessing authority, notices issued by the Appellate Assistant Commissioner or Commissioner and to appear, act and plead on behalf of the assessing authority before the Appellate Assistant Commissioner or Commissioner, as the case may be;
