In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 14 of the Karnataka Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976 (Karnataka Act 35 of 1976), and in supersession of the Notification No. FD 290 CSE 84, dated 7th June, 1985, the Government of Karnataka hereby appoints the Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Assessments), Commercial Tax Officers and Assistant Commercial Tax Officers appointed under the Karnataka Sales Tax Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 25 of 1957), as the Assistant Commissioner of Profession Tax, Profession Tax Officer and Assistant Profession Tax Officers to carry out the purposes of the said Act, within their respective jurisdictions.
